I have been counselling for the past 16 years and work with a wide variety of common issues. My training and experience is primarily in the field of relationship and family counselling and psychosexual therapy. This involves work with individuals, couples and families, supporting people to deal with relationship conflict and breakdown. I work with children and parents to resolve communication issues. Any family member can attend if agreed. I also work with issues related to a couple’s sexual relationship including common difficulties in achieving sexual satisfaction and closeness.
My work with individual clients includes support with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, anger management, abuse, self-esteem and confidence.
The first meeting in counselling is an important opportunity to explore what is involved and to see if the counsellor’s style and approach is what you are seeking. If you decide then to continue with counselling, each stage in what can be a short to medium term process is agreed with you the client.
I also deliver counselling supervision and Continuous Professional Development training for Counsellors
I provide counselling primarily in the centre of well-being where I am part of a team of experienced therapists.
My family home is in rural Inishowen where I enjoy life in the outdoors, walking, rambling and gardening. I enjoy comedy and good fun with friends and family. I’m also a fan of good food and of finding imaginative ways to enjoy and appreciate the simpler pleasures of life and living.
